Let Your Net Go…

Matthew 4:19-20 “And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. Immediately they left their nets and followed him.”

When Jesus was walking in Galilee, he came upon (Simon)Peter and Andrew he found them fishing! He told them what was about to go down, and asked them to follow him! They were willing to do WHAT IT TOOK to follow Jesus! The bible said that they IMMEDIATELY dropped their nets and followed him!
(You see the Gospels are Short stories! EVERY detail is in there for a specific reason! IT IS IMPORTANT that you understand that they IMMEDIATELYdropped their nets)

How many of us want to follow Jesus but never let go of our nets? I mean Peter, Andrew, then later brothers James and John all left their nets to follow! This meant that they left their jobs, their security, their food source, their income, their homes, their families, and all that they knew! They did it immediately!

What is the net in your life today?

I believe that it is impossible to follow Jesus and hold on to our nets! Nets slow us down, pick-up and trap things that are meant to be left behind us, snag and hang up, and they keep our HANDS clinched tight and unable to do the work of the Lord therefore unable to receive his full blessings !

The word says that, “anyone that puts their hands to the plow and looks back is not fit for service”!

I would ask that you open your hands and look into your palms…. notice the lines. The lines in your hand are creases formed from us “holding on” to stuff! When you are ready…. speak to the NETS in your hands and simply turn them over and let go of your nets and let God lead you! It is hard to do but I want you to know that it is just that simple! Where Jesus is, there is freedom! BE FREE OF YOUR NETS. The bible says “he who the son sets free, is free indeed”.

When Jesus called these disciples from their craft of fishing, he said to them, “COME, FOLLOW ME, I WILL MAKE YOU FISHERS OF MEN”

When you let go of your nets you have:

A Calling – “COME”

Instructions – “FOLLOW ME”

A Promise – “I WILL MAKE YOU”

and A Purpose – (reproducing)”FISHERS OF MEN”

So If you Let Go of your nets , you become free, receive blessing, hear his calling, get instructions, have a promise, and live with a purpose!
